Welcome to the XXIII ISBC Conference in Dresden
September 27 – October 1, 2026, Dresden, Germany

The ISBC conferences have a long tradition of bringing together researchers from different areas of the life sciences who share an interest in elucidating the energetics of biological processes by various calorimetric and thermodynamic approaches. Theory, experiment, and technical developments will be discussed in a setting that allows for intensive interactions among participants.
The conference fosters the consolidation and further spread of biological calorimetry. New methods are continuously being developed, enabling increasingly complex systems to be studied. These range from molecular recognition processes and the assembly of large supramolecular complexes to the energetics of living organisms. Encouraging young scientists to broaden their knowledge, present their data, and interact with colleagues is a central intention and the basis for the continued success of the conference series.
The XXIII ISBC conference takes place in the vibrant university city of Dresden, which features world-class research institutions, a rich history, and a vivid artistic life encompassing performing arts, fine arts, and internationally renowned musical ensembles.
The venue is situated in the city center, providing participants with the opportunity to experience the city’s historic architectural landmarks.
